Dr. Lipkind is the Director of Maternal Fetal of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine. She earned her M.D. degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at New York University. She completed her Maternal-fetal Medicine fellowship at Columbia University in 2006 and her Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology from the Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Lipkind was previously a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale University and the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Director until she returned to NYC in October of 2022. Dr. Lipkind is a consultant for the CDC’s Vaccine Safety Datalink Team at Health Partners Research Foundation and has been actively involved in study design, interpretation of findings and manuscript preparation on ongoing studies of vaccine safety during pregnancy for the CDC . She has published extensively on the safety of the COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy. She has worked on several projects examining the association of Pregnancy-related health conditions with long-term health outcomes with a focus on hypertension, preeclampsia and cardiovascular disease and is an investigator on several NIH grants. She also serves as the Dual-PI on a multi-centered trial funded from the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) examining Community-Based, Family-Centered, Trauma-Informed Approach to Timely Detection and Management of Early Postpartum Hypertension in 6000 women across three states. She loves teaching and mentoring medical students, fellows, and junior faculty.
