Weill Cornell Medicine is home to a large number of physician-scientists and PhD scientists who are world experts in congenital disorders of the human reproductive tract, as well as those with interests in reproductive disorders associated with Klinefelter Syndrome and other diseases of genetic origins. The link between the patient and the laboratory is critical in understanding these disorders, and CoRe offers the perfect nexus between the clinic and the bench to promote research that will alleviate the suffering of our patients.
A large number of CoRe affiliated labs are interested in the formation of cancers of the reproductive tract. Breast, cervical, ovarian, prostate and testicular cancers are most commonly studied, and each are highly prevalent in the human population. Studies by are Center members are focused on understanding the genetic basis for these cancers, and on developing strong mouse models for each.
