Reproductive health is closely linked to nutritional status with both under- and over-nutrition having detrimental effects on fertility, pregnancy and reproductive transitions. The section of Nutrition and Reproductive Health at CoRe brings together multidisciplinary investigators that use cross-cutting approaches in the assessment of clinical, veterinary, dietary, metabolite, genetic and genomic data to identify mechanisms through which preconception, antenatal and post-natal nutrition influence reproductive health outcomes. Expertise spans pre-clinical models, epidemiological studies and observational and interventional clinical trials. In addressing pressing questions related to the role of nutrition and metabolism in reproductive health, our experts are transforming diet-based approaches to improve animal and human health in both domestic and international settings.
