Contraception and Assisted Reproduction

Studies by CoRe researchers are heavily focused on providing new strategies for the control of fertility in humans and animals. For example, we are using our understanding of gamete biology to identify new diagnostic mechanisms for assessing sperm quality in large animals and in men. As an extension to this, and in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, we are applying our knowledge of gene regulation in the testis towards identification of strong targets for male contraceptive development.
